UoN SU Type 1 Diabetes Support Group

Beth Massey (Joint Group Coordinator)
Hi there, my name is Beth and I'm one of the group coordinators for the Diabetes Support Group at the University of Nottingham this year. I'm a final year History and Politics student with a focus on the efficiency of the FBI in relation to Islamic terror threats under the first Obama Administration. I enjoy reading, eating and sleeping, but then again who doesn't! I also like running and recently completed a half marathon raising over £600 for JDRF.
My relationship with diabetes comes from my experiences with my little sister who was diangosed with Type 1 in 2007 at the age of 8. Since then I've experienced daily life supporting and dealing with the condition and its effects on both family life and personal life as she has grown up. Additionally, as a result of this, I completed a Level 1 Open University course on Diabetes Care whilst at school and I have also completed two runs raising money for JDRF, one 10K and one half marathon.
